Photohaus Baldy

Please expand each section below to view details about the property

Welcome to The Photohaus Baldy.  We hope that you enjoy your stay with us. This guide answers many of the FAQ’s for the unit and surrounding area.

Please remember to remove all shoes and boots upon entry as this is a no shoes/boots house.  Also, no pets, parties, smoking on premise or exceeding occupancy, as stated in your Rental Agreement.

Everything needed to make Alta your home-away-from-home should be ready for you upon arrival. If you have any questions during your stay, please contact the Alta Chalets team by texting (385) 855-2424.

For example, a broken light bulb or extra towels.  Should questions arise, please contact us as soon as possible so we can correct the issue quickly.

The address to the property is 10231 Little Cottonwood Road, Alta Utah, 84092.

If you have problems and think it is a router reset issue, you will need to reach out to your caretaker.

There is one parking spot for each rental unit at The Photohaus.  These spots are directly in front of the building.  Please display Alta Chalets parking pass clearly on rearview mirror and park in designated Photohaus parking spot.  Do not park in the wrong spot or you will be towed.

There are ski lockers available for use as you walk in the building. The doors should be open to access these lockers. You can set you own personal code per each use. Think about what you’d like the desired code to be, then press START – ENTER CODE – LOCK. Please leave doors open if not in use.

REMEMBER, that red light means occupied, green light means it is available.

There is also a black switch on the back right hand side of the heater/fireplace for on/off.  Please use the dial to adjust the temperature and flame.

These fireplaces do have a temperature sensor, so if the ambient air temperature is too high, they will not turn on.  That is normal operation.

Located right next to the front door, you’ll find a touch screen allowing you to adjust the temperature by sliding the round dot up or down.  It will then prompt you for the duration of that temperature.

Located at the end of the locker room hall, there are detergent pods and dryer sheets on the shelf above the sink.  Please be sure to put laundry pods INTO the drum, not into the drawer, as it will damage the washer.

There is also a broom in case there is a need to sweep anything up in the laundry or locker room.

To unlock the unit door, please refer to the check in instructions for your access code, enter it and push the check mark sign.

To lock the street entry door and the unit doors, you just need to turn the deadbolt.

Please try to lock the street entry door when you leave.

• All occupants must comply with applicable parking restrictions and limitations.

• Complaints from the neighbors, police and/or homeowners associations are grounds for

“Interlodge” is a term most visitors to Alta have never heard before unless they have visited our area in the past. Little Cottonwood Canyon, where Alta Ski Resort and Snowbird Resort are located, receives an average of 500 inches of snow each season. While this is what we all want and why we are considered to have the “greatest snow on earth”, it can also create avalanche conditions. There are many factors that contribute to create an avalanche – just the right combination of snow, wind and temperatures.

You will be notified of road closures/interlodge by the Town of Alta or your caretaker. During times of interlodge, signs are placed across doorways and you are not permitted to exit the property for any circumstance. If a closing is scheduled during the ski day – notices are placed on the white boards next to the ski lifts and on signs next to the road.  We will be in touch with you throughout Interlodge to let you know expected opening times.

The garbage cans are outside the kitchen sliding door.  Please separate out recycling.

The grill is located outside on the hot tub deck.  Please put cover back on once the grill has cooled off or the cover material will melt onto the grill.  If you fill up your grease tray, we are happy to bring another, just let us know.

Grill utensils should be located in the drawer to the left of the sink and there is steel wool and a grill brush as well.

There is a blender, handheld mixer and espresso machine.  The stand alone coffee maker does not need filters as there is a mesh reusable filter.  Nespresso pods or any other kinds of pods will not work in these coffee makers.

The Flagstaff and the Baldy Photohaus have a fantastic location, just across the street from the Alta Ski Area. If you are familiar with Alta, these two units are just across the street from the Alta Lodge. So in the morning, you have two options to get to Alta. You can either jump on the Free Alta Resort Shuttle or ski down. The Resort Shuttle stops right by the house and will take you to either the Sunnyside base area for beginners or it will also take you to the Collins Base. If you want to ski, you can just walk across the street, down about 10 Alta Lodge stairs to step into your skis to ski down to the Collins base (or jump on the rope tow to go to the Sunnyside base). To return home at the end of the ski day, you can either ride the Resort Shuttle again or you can jump on the Alta Lodge rope tow to go uphill to get back to the stairs that you started from that morning.

To get to Snowbird to go skiing, you would just take that Alta Resort Shuttle to The View Condominiums stop to ski down the intermediate “Whodunnit” run to Snowbird. At the end of the day, you can return to that same location to hop back on the Resort Shuttle to go back to the Photohaus.
