At check in, you will given a a parking permit. Place this parking pass on the dashboard of your car.

There is outdoor uncovered parking for two vehicles only. Oversized or additional vehicles are not allowed.

Please park as away from the house as possible, this is so the cat driver/plowman can get through. Also in spring, ice melt/snowfall from roof is a hazard.

Skis can be placed on the east deck. There are ski racks to the left of the front door entry.

The main floor gas fireplace is the primary and best heat source for the living area.  There is a remote control that allows temperature selection and auto thermostat setting. Press on to turn ON, and set it to auto. To warm up the house, it helps to turn on the fan above the living room. The on/off and controls for the fan are at the top of the stairs.

There is a wooden box on the east deck. Two are for trash and the other is recycling. Please break down cardboard boxes, crush cans etc. Glass recycling bin is located to the left of the boot dryer.

“Interlodge” is a term most visitors to Alta have never heard before unless they have visited our area in the past. Little Cottonwood Canyon, where Alta Ski Resort and Snowbird Resort are located, receives an average of 500 inches of snow each season. While this is what we all want and why we are considered to have the “greatest snow on earth”, it can also create avalanche conditions. There are many factors that contribute to create an avalanche – just the right combination of snow, wind and temperatures.

You will be notified of road closures/interlodge by the Town of Alta or your caretaker. During times of interlodge, signs are placed across doorways and you are not permitted to exit the property for any circumstance. If a closing is scheduled during the ski day – notices are placed on the white boards next to the ski lifts and on signs next to the road.  We will be in touch with you throughout Interlodge to let you know expected opening times.

How do I get from the Peruvian Acres private homes to Alta and Snowbird? The Peruvian Acres private homes are located very close to where the Bypass Road rejoins the State Highway 210 (the main road), below the Alta Peruvian Lodge. The Chalet Day Johns, the Black Bear Chalet and the Fort House are on the upper side of these neighborhoods and The Cabin, The Manley and the Travis Home are on the lower side of the neighborhood.

To get to Alta from these homes, you have a couple of easy options. You can walk to the Alta Peruvian Lodge and from there ski across the cat track over to the lifts. You can also jump on the free Alta Resort Shuttle which makes a continuous loop of the Bypass Road during daytime hours. The shuttle runs continuously during the day. It will typically take just a few minutes to get up to the Collins or Sunnyside base areas at Alta. After skiing, you can utilize this same shuttle to bring you back to the property or you can ski home from Alta as well by accessing the Wildcat Access area and crossing the snowbridge back to the Peruvian Acres neighborhoods. You will need to walk across the Bypass Road to get to the Manley, The Cabin, or the Travis Home. Check out our Aerial Overview Video (https://www.altachalets.com/explore-alta-snowbird/alta-snowbird-aerial-overview/) for a visual reference on location.

To get to Snowbird from these homes, when you start your ski day, the easiest thing to do would be to jump back on the Alta Resort Shuttle and head in the opposite direction (towards Snowbird) and get off at the very last stop on the loop: The View Condominiums.  From there you would ski down to Snowbird via an intermediate ski trail.  To get back to the home at the end of the day from Snowbird, just end your ski day at the Whodunnit run and jump back onboard the Alta Resort Shuttle from there.

Special Notes:
As with any of the runs at Alta and Snowbird, access is based on the current conditions.
The Alta Resort Shuttle service runs during the daytime hours, typically 8:30am to 5pm.
