You can even rent a snowmobile for a day of exploring or take a snowmobile tour to really see the spectacular sites. Winter in Alta and Snowbird Resort, with its alpine setting, is a beautiful time of year to visit, and the area offers many recreational opportunities to enjoy. Most activities are conveniently located close to your Alta vacation rental or Snowbird condo, so don’t hesitate to get out there and enjoy the snow and all the great winter activities.

Snowshoeing is a fun way to enjoy the outdoors and see some of the beautiful areas surrounding Alta ski resort. While exploring Alta on snowshoes, you may find yourself in quiet forests blanketed with snow, breaking a fresh trail in wide open meadows, or hiking up a mountain with blue skies overhead. Snowmobiling is exhilarating and can be a fun adventure for the whole family. Locals and tourists alike enjoy getting out in the Alta backcountry on a snowmobile, where you can choose from a guided tour or a snowmobile rental for a day. Snowmobiling Alta, Utah is a true experience!

Nordic skiing is a popular winter activity at Alta ski area. Enjoy classic skiing or skate skiing on 5 kolometers of perfectly groomed track at Alta Ski Resort. On days after a winter storm, enjoy the beauty of skating on a track with fresh snow. A few rental shops in Alta offer your choice of classic and skate skis to demo. Snowbird and other nearby ski areas also offer groomed tracks to cross country ski on. Whether you are trying nordic skiing for the first time or you’re a seasoned veteran, nordic skiing at Alta is a great way to spend the day.
